About the course
A useful course for gaining the fundamentals required for kitchen fitting. During the week you will build confidence with materials and tools commonly used for the installation of kitchen units. The course will also cover the building regulations applicable to kitchen fitting in respect of electrics and water.
The course covers:
Health and safety along with the requirement for Personnel Protective Equipment (PPE).
Safe working practices and correct use of the tools and equipment, specialist to kitchen fitting.
The building regulations applicable to kitchen fitting in respect of electric's and water.
Selecting the right units for a kitchen, reading manufacturers scale drawings and the planning of a basic kitchen layout.
Marking, setting out and levelling of units to a datum line (laser line).
Assembling and fixing base, larder and wall units.
Practice scribing then cutting of a 90 degree joint using a work top jig and router.
Cutting inserts for sink and hobs in worktops. Then cutting 45 degree joints if time permits.
Fitting of taps waste outlets and basic plumbing requirements for kitchens
Hanging doors and templates for fitting of door furniture.
Marking cutting and fixing of cornice pelmet and plinth.
